There should be an objective rating for how good a record is and it should be called "SAR" for Spins Above Replacement.

So less than 1 would be not great. A full 1.0 could be solid. 2 is very good, and anything above 2 is phenomenal.

This could be averaged from a number of outings.

Have you seen Inherent Vice? I never got around to seeing it. Enjoyed the book.

Inherent Vice, the film, was very good, I thought, and as faithful in spirit and detail to the book as one could hope, though of course large chunks were omitted (the whole trip to Vegas, for one): quite a respectable effort, quite a few laughs. J. Phoenix as Doc acquitted himself well, as did Josh Brolin as Bigfoot Bjornsen, and I always enjoy Benicio del Toro. But this? Again, not sure. We shall see.

Cool. Vineland is supposed to be subtly great, haven't read it though.

What I'm thinking:

A Marc Maron sitcom called WTFOBGYN.
Every appointment starts with "Who are your guys?" and ends with "Are we done here?"

I will go to bat for Agnostic Front "Live at CBGB" but not so much for their studio albums. Gorilla Biscuits and Sick Of It All deserve some respect.
