I'm so fucking excited to see The Dick Slessig Combo tonight. I'm REALLY hoping they do their rendition of Kraftwerk's "Computer Love," as I read they did that in San Francisco last week. Matmos is playing too, and that will be cool.

Matmos played in Boston (ok, Cambridge) in '22 and it was incredible.

Fantastic show. Matmos are basically foley artists, having a blast doing it, very creative guys. Dick Slessig Combo were really great. Three songs, the first and last of which were Kraftwerk interpretations. They started with "Computer Love" and finished with "Neon Lights." The second piece I did not recognize, but it was lovely.

Edit: appears the second track was something by Gabor Szabo.

Spring has sprung. Spent the day in the park with the dog. Read, listened to Curtis Mayfield, noname, Sir Richard Bishop, and The Abyssinians. Bought the lad a puppacino. Fine day.

Today I bought my very first bottle of pain reliever with an easy open arthritis cap.

I try to be a nice man when I use a public restroom. Put the seat up to piss, put it down when done. To that end, can you people who attend to public restrooms in fancy coffee shops and the like muthafuckin please make sure your toilet seat actually STAYS UP?! Fuck.

This post brought me right back to the topic years ago about toilets-in-venues horror stories, in which FM Steve bided his time and let the thread play out for a few pages, posted his own, truly horrifying story and then (probably) blew smoke off the ends of his finger pistols before going back to work.

I feel you. I scheduled a June hip replacement a few days ago. Knew it was coming - I've been doing PT and losing weight for months trying to stave it off - but that's a disquietingly older person thing, and I'm having a little difficulty coming to terms with it.
