Repetitive thought: it sucks how classy and ridiculously implausible William Gibson's dystopias seem now. Like a world that compelling viral art could penetrate ("the footage"), at least in my hazy memories of his novels. Would that make life more tolerable? Probably not. It's probably a liberal fantasy, I don't know. I want it to be aesthetic. Or I want art to matter, when it feels like it doesn't.
