I was a little disappointed playoff tickets sold out in less than 20 minutes. I was working the phones, and interweb. Gone, nothing. I thought I'd get at least a game

Don't worry, if it's sunny and 80 degrees out on gameday(s) you'll find plenty of people selling. Nice weather keeps Sox fans away in droves.

Could this signal the gentrification of the White Sox? If Lake View became Wrigleyville what does that make the neighborhood around Comiskey? It's hard to make Bridgeport/Back of the Yards into something catchy.

6-4-3. you have made me laff with your very cruel yet inspired baiting!

saluT! and fuck you!

at least the sox are playing atypically. it isn't the 'you can't have everyone on a whole team hit .260 and win' chicken coming home to roost so much. they can play defense, run the bases, and pitch. i swear. i seen em do it!

anyway, i figure it thusly:

say indians go 8-2 in their non-sox games rest of the year--tampa and kc are the kinds of teams cleveland will feast on in their current, steamroller mode

say ox go 2-5 against the twins (just for fun) and split w/detroit to go 4-5

this gives the sox and indians the...exact...same...record

so 6 games betw these two teams decide it, if this happens around those games

i hope and pray the sox win 4 of these six. do they go to a playoff if they finish w/same record? even tho sox tromped indians in the 'season series?' i think they may have to playoff.

anyway, i don't have a lot of faith that the sox will win the division at this point. i hope they prove me wrong.

but i do think they will make it as the wild card

if...IF! if the sox go 4-5 w/other teams and _totally lay an egg_ against the indians--lose every game--to finish 92-70, then the yankees (i will pull for oakland, but let's say yanks) must go 9-8 to TIE sox for wild card (they have tied in season series).

yanks play 3 w/boston and 14 w/toronto and baltimore, with whom they have basically split

regardless, this is a shitty way to end the regular season and will probably have a bad impact on any playoff baseball chicago plays. baseball players may have short memories, but they're not that short.
