Well, for one thing, I might expect some debate and disagreement. The unanimity of thought on those boards leads me to believe that it's probably aggresively moderated. I could be wrong, but that's the signs. Anyway, fine, you didn't endorse the boards, good.
It makes a lot of sense and is pretty spot on in a lot of places I think. Sure there's a lot of opinion in there, but it's just some dude writing about something he feels strongly about. Farenheit 9/11 was full of unsupported generalizations, lies, meaningless "facts", double standards, whining, moaning, bitching, complaining, kvetching, and maybe one or two valid points as well
Disagree mostly, but don't want to drag things further off topic by getting into it.
but it was still enjoyable and made me think.
A redeeming quality that dontmarry.com utterly lacks.
I'm not saying all marriages are a bad idea,
Yet the website you endorse goes by the name of dontmarry.com (dontmarry = Don't marry = Do not marry). Unless I'm wrong, and it's just written by a guy named Don T. Marry.
I'm just saying you gotta REALLY weigh out the pros and cons.
I have so many friends who get married and they have no idea WHY they got married.
'It's just what you are spossed to do'
Fuck that.
OK, yes, fuck getting married because that's what you're "supposed to do". Yes, weighing pros and cons on any major life decision is a good thing to do. Yes, there are cons to getting married. And yes, for some people, getting married is a bad decision. But this guy isn't urging you to weigh the pros and cons. He wants you to just look at the cons - he exaggerates some of them, makes others up, all the while claiming he just wants to educate you. Early on, he claims "The intent is not to dissuade men from marrying[.]", but the name of the website is dontmarry.com, for Christ's sake!
Dishonest Crap.
