Band: The Cows

If you asked me a year ago, I would've said these guys were my favorite band, no waffles. I have everything they did and I love them.

They seem to have been shunned by lots of the "underground" community throughout the 80s AND 90s and for the life of me I can't figure out why. I guess people were quick to dismiss them as a sick joke, but those people were missing out on a lot. Musically, this band was INCREDIBLY inventive.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

saw them open for primus when i was 13 or so, thought it was CRAP. though i did think it was funny when the singer slowly... pulled... his... out... of... his... pants -- not his penis, but a fake hand!

got a tape for cheap much later wondering if i'd have a different opinion. listened to some of it once and wasn't impressed.

which album cover are you referring too? I don't see it. They're all pretty great. I expect you're talking about "Whorn" or "Sexy Pee Story". Of course "Cunning Stunts" and "Daddy Has A Tail" are amazing as well.

fixed, though my vote would actually go to the back cover of this album.

If anyone's interested, the following is a MySpace bulletin from the Heroine Sheiks:

The NEW, Minneapolis, line up is complete. There is DAVID JOE HOLIDAY, formerly of Belles of Skin City, Kentucky Gag Order,Coke Whores, and Touch is Automatic, on Baritone (a bass/guitar thing), PAUL SANDERS, formerly of Hammerhead, More RAM and Fly Republic, on guitar. There is SARAH HUSKA, formerly of Ouija Radio, ..boards and NATE CUTLAN of Thunderbolt Pagoda, Brown Rainbow, and Better Off Airport. And SHANNON SELBERG formerly of Cows on vocals

New album soon? A boy can dream.
