This is not TRUE.
Podsednik has a very good arm and Rowand's arm is good. Dye's arm is great.

But now during the post season, the national announcers are really leaning on the "D" in pronouncing it poDsednik.
Am I high?
According to Scott Podsednik, his grandmother told him that the name was to be pronounced "puh-sed-nik".
In all circumstances, I would trust the opinion of Scott Podsednik's grandmother over that of Joe Buck or Tim McCarver.

Am I high?
No, they've really been into the D.
Fucking Joe Buck.
Tim McCarver is ridiculously terrible, so it's easy to forget how ridiculous Joe Buck is.
It used to be poe-SED-nik, but now that he's David Ortiz, I guess they've got to call him something else.

during the days of my NL-only fantasy baseball league i learnt the "podsednik" way with the "d."
it wouldn't make much sense if his nickname was "scotty pod" but then the full name was pronounced without the "d" sound.
in conclusion, you might be high.

I believe the correct pronunciation is 'Chi-Koo-Koo'

And how come Rowand can't seem to turn his head? He's like the Frankenstein monster.
These games have been great.

i loved the way those retards went on and on about rowand not advancing to 2nd on that fly ball to burke. even after he had crossed home plate and was picking his fingernails in the dugout.
also: calling a failed bunt a 'good play.' nobody on, easy out for the white sox. good play!
i hate the fetishization of the bunt. i think the bunt, she is fine in specific circumstances. but you are going to bunt w/no one on base? you better end up on first.

Here's Gary Huckaby of
Baseball Prospectus on Fox's postseatson coverage:
I’d say it’s painful, but it’s really worse than that. From the pregame show, where everyone looks and talks like a Xanaxed-out realtor, to the 2:30 breaks between every half inning, it’s been unwatchable, at least for me. I’ve missed a fair amount of the postseason simply because Fox has managed to take some truly great, dramatic, world-class sport, and turn it into some sort of horrific suburb fest. It’s kind of the TV equivalent of one of those vile exurb malls, with faux façade architecture, nine hundred different soulless, Bed Bath, and Beyondesque retailers, usually clustered with a SlavLaborMart or some sort. I’d feel worse about it, except that I’m amused by the convergence of the visages of Kevin Kennedy and the Plastic Burger King King we’re seeing all the time on commercials. Creepy.
"Xanaxed-out realtor"- beautiful.

Podsednik's throw was plenty strong enough, but just slightly too far up the line. It was very close to being a perfect throw.
And yes, "the homer is nice."
The homer is nice.
With the possible exception of Dye, the outfield arms are weak. The throw was offline regardless. If it is to the third base side instead of first the game is over at that point.
Redemption.
bah
you haven't watched this team much
podsednik has a good arm. rowand has an ok arm. dye has a _great_ arm.
it took a great slide to score on that play. pierzynski was two inches from tagging him out.
the throw was fine. not perfect, but fine. if podsednik had not hit that home run, and the sox had lost the game, you would have been the only person on the planet to blame it on him.
It's nothing personal really. I've watched the team the whole season as a matter of fact. I can be very excited about the Sox in the series and recognize when they make a mistake. It's not the Vatican for god's sake.
I think the throw was offline and am very happy he redeemed himself. They made some baserunning mistakes (Iguchi getting picked) last night as well and managed to get away with it.
