Way of Life is good too. I love Rev and Vega's solo stuff. Why Be Blue not so much. Lot's of great footage over at youtube.

Not Crap, based on having only heard the first two (great) albums.

I listened to American Supreme tonight...oh my god...so bad...it's probably they're best record, at the very least they invented Excepter 2 yrs early

I fondly remember going through the Tim Horton's drive thru up here in Canada with the 'Frankie Teardrop' track segued halfway through just before Vega lets out his harrowing bellow. After I was asked if I wanted to order 'anything else,' I shot back at the intercom: "Lemme just ask my friend here, John." I proceeded to crank my stereo full blast with the inhumane wails of Vega's 'a farm animal knowing it's about to be dragged to the slaughterhouse' type gasps. I remember fondly this look of stunned amazement on the dude's face as I retrieved my order from him. Shocked, and slightly annoyed.

I say you take it off da hook.

That record should come w/ a free coupon for a high-top fade

Let's give it up for Suicide. They were the tightest posse.

okay, when dealing with Suicide keep in mind that NOTHING else is particularly comparable with their first album...(though Martin Rev's first couple of solo records are pretty excellent...) even Suicide's second album is good but approaching the border of questionable...it's very cheesy although you can still find yourself liking it for reasons you're not entirely sure of...for the most part all of the rest of their albums are just downright bad...(well, the reissue of the second album has a second disc of early rehearsal tapes, which are worth having...) of course the live stuff from around the time of the first album is all good but the actual first album is by far the best...i'm probably repeating myself, but yeah, don't get any of their actual albums expecting anything like their first...i would strongly recommend finding away to listen to Why Be Blue? before spending as much as $7 on it...i personally would probably not spend $1 on it...if someone tried to give it to me i would most likely politely decline...

Jeeze!

BLAST FIRST PETITE (UK):

$73 SUICIDE: Live 1977-1978 6CD (PTYT 011CD). Limited edition of 3000, 6CD set. "'Audio verité recordings (mastered by the incomparable Denis Blackham) of Suicide playing live from September 1977 to August 1978. These recordings cover most of their early shows at CBGBs & Max's plus their first-ever tour across Europe & the UK, these being their dates outside the USA. As you will hear, a crucial year in Suicide's development as both musicians and performers and their mission to stretch the label of punk rock to the very limit. The package includes a 40 page booklet of Suicide & Red Star Records memorabilia (including very rare Red Star press releases) from the personal archives of Howard Thompson, the A&R man that signed Suicide to UK label Bronze Records. Only the infamous '23 Minutes Over Brussels' has been legally released before. From my very own sleeve notes: 'This set of recordings are not the faint hearted, nor is it the ideal place to start to those first time listeners seeking an easy entry into the dark and decidedly queasy world of Alan Vega & Marty Rev's proto-futuristic, low tech sci-fi musical that they launched on a mostly uncaring world as music group Suicide. Howard Thompson's archive was originally made purely for his personal reference based on a joyless recognition that he was right there seeing history in the making. We've presented the gigs in the order they happened, all the better to hear how the Suicide live experience develops. If you want homogenized, sanitized, tweaked and combed, P.C'd "punk," put this baby back on eBay and sell it for profit to one who maybe really wants the use of these leather black skrying mirrors.' --Paul Smith, blastfirstpetite (2008)"

Even my brother, who isn't into punk at all and hates most of it, realized that "Ghost Rider" should have been used for that movie...though that's the least of things that should have been done to improve that movie...

what drum machine did these guys use? a Roland?
