Thankfully, they're one of the only 2 good Irish bands. And the other one isn't U2, The Cranberries, or the fucking Corrs.

Stewie, do you not like Therapy?(?)

I was listening to Troublegum last night.

Therapy? were great up until Nurse - but Troublegum (and onwards) didn't do it for me. Fyfe was such a great goddamn drummer though. I was so sad to see him leave that band.

Their first 2 EPs are just great too.

My Bloody Valentine were irish wernt they?

Ahh crap. There's another one. Although Belinda Butcher was English though...

...ok, but APART from The Frames, Therapy?, The Dudley Corporation, My Bloody Valentine, the aquaducts, drinkable water and public health, what have the Irish done for rock?

All the SKWM discs recorded with Steve sound great in their own way--from the other-side-of-the-gym drums on Developer's "Give Me Some Skin" to the ultra-dry and in-your-face It'll Be Cool, and the just plain perfect sounding Libertine. (RIP, spoot.)

To pick favorite recordings--the two I use as reference discs--it'd have to be Joel R.L. Phelps/The Downer Trio's 3 and Bedhead's Transaction de Novo. Both gorgeous.

For Bob's work, I'm a real sucker for the Coctails' Peel. Pretty much everything about that record is exactly right.
