i'm re-infatuated with ebn-ozn's "aeiou sometimes y" - it's completely goofy and ridiculous. but awesome! it makes me feel like i'm in a john hughes montage. not crap.

A year later, I still listen to this song severaly times daily.
I am glad I put it in the Gmail account to let other people obsess over it.

this was because someone mentioned roger miller in the sad songs thread, i went and downloaded some stuff cos i didn't know who he was.

my favorite song ever, hands down. Goddamnit. This Clarence Ashley had a way of phrasing that is honestly mind-boggling. His voice sounds like strings snapping. I am also partial to
his version of the song "The House Carpenter", which also sits on that comp.
If I could find a way to somehow solubilize these songs, I wouldn't hesitate to inject them straight into my vains on a regular basis.

Never thought I'd get into Mendelssohn so much:Apparently he wrote this in memorium after his sister, who was also a composer, died. It was one of the last things he wrote, dying six months after her. That recapitulation and ending is fucking amazing. Great student performance too!phpBB [media]Powerful stuff.
