I don't understand how anyone who enjoys raw music could not like "Fire of Love". "She's Like Heroin to Me" is just fucking feral.

Fire Of Love is a spectacular album, and anyone who doesn't like it has no taste and boring sex.

I like this band. BUT, when it comes to "roots-rock", I prefer the flesh eaters.

Johnny's got a light in his eyes
Shirley's got a light on her lips
Jake's got a monkeyshine on his head
Debra Ann's got a tiger in her hips
NC. Good band.

I'm with BRE on this one. A great Friday night album. I would listen to it before going out my sophomore year of college. It really got me jacked to...uh...stand around uncomfortably at parties.
I never heard the Pixies in this. I will put it on now.

I detested this hokey band and their preening singer. Both live and on record, not a stitch of this ever sounded genuine to me. Pure showbiz.
Hated it, hated their audience, hated their shtick, hated the idea of jamming two discrete pre-existing styles of music together because you're too lazy to come up with your own...
A bad band that played a bad kind of bad music and engendered an annoying, fashion-obsessed audience.

A "one trick pony," right?

Oh whatever! There are plenty of frontmen who can't sing but are totally brilliant, and, while I wouldn't say Chris D. is BRILLIANT by any means, the first two flesh eaters albums are wonderful in almost every way.
