Really freaky, pretty pop music by the guy who'd one day write "Seasons in the Sun" and his hot-as-shit wife. Kim Cooper's essay on the Poppy Family, "Patridge Family + Manson Family = Poppy Family," in Bubblegum Music is the Naked Truth is highly recommended, one of the funniest bits of music writing I've ever seen.
