Out of print records usually sell for more.

For example.

Mindless Self Indugence - Tight (when released, $12)
Mindless Self Indulgence - Tight (now, >$100)

what? how do companies make the money from private sellers?

that makes no sense.
Agreed, that post was not thought through.

Although, I think I have seen some old Psychic TV materials, and other TG/Coum Transmissions related stuff, for sale on PTV's website, that was fairly high priced. Although, I can understand why, at this point, they might charge ebay type prices. Why should a private seller on ebay get a premium price, and not the band itself, if the band still has copies/material available?

An original on Jennifer Hartman fetches around $100 on ebay.

But the Touch and Go version is in print and available in pretty much every record store in the country.

WHOA.

After posting that, I went to Froogle to give you some links to places you can purchase Tweez.

Here ya go. (Disregard the cunts on GEMM who want like $40 for it).

Then...

In the process I accidentally scored a copy on Jennifer Hartman records for $9.99 BIN.

Nice!

Are you sure? They use the "#138" for the Jennifer Hartman pressing, when it was released on T&G #138.

Hope you're not disappointed man...

It looks like the Jennifer Hartman pressing was also Cat. #138:

If not, I'll kick the guy in the balls and sell my extra copy to Robert G.

Don't people go record shopping anymore? Man, some of you guys seem clueless. Maybe getting out of your computer chair, off of ebay and into a used record store (a few still exist) would aid you in your search for relatively common records. Finding a Slint or Jesus Lizard LP is not like finding an original Sun Ra on Saturn or something. Seriously, they are out there.

Used record stores in Cleveland are notorious for having a huge deluge of prog rock. Before most of the Cleveland scene went metal, there was a bizarre prog rock following here. Rush for instance toured here heavily before making it big. Phil Collins' current incarnation of Genesis were just here playing in the Q Arena, and not by coincidence. Show me where these used records stores in Cleveland where they have Slint, Jesus Lizard, and the like, and I'll buy you dinner at My Friend's Diner, which is a pretty nice place to grab a bite along Detroit Ave. (coincidently, in the neighborhood of several Cleveland record stores).
