I did some A/B stuff but it was a "before vs. after" thing instead of a "unmodded vs. modded" because I only have one SM57. It won't be as reliable because the two sound sources are of course different, but it's still decent enough to get an idea. I tried to keep the mic in the same place and play the same thing into it each time.

The two samples are up on the EAforums2 gmail account.

They are 24-bit 96kHz WAVs, so you will probably have to load them into a DAW or something like Sound Forge to play them. LAME wouldn't let me mp3 hi-res WAVs like this.

I would love to hear the difference.
This is the only audio comparison I have been able to find anywhere on the net.

I have a feeling the gmail account is for privileged EA members? This is my 1st post here, so I don't know anything about the gmail account.

I can't seem to find the tapeop mod files.
I think someone deleted the files.

I might just do the mod since that's be best way to explore it. Not to mention the mod is reversable.

Maybe I'll make my own comparisons and post them up.

Oh man am I stupid. It turns out that when i logged in the first time I forgot the "2" on eaforums. So I actually logged into eaforums instead of eaforums2.
