He's actually good!
I like is Steve's drums!
i agree with you, but i've only heard him play "guy who invented fire"-style sort of mathematical beats (which i like a lot) and then heard steve rant about how he can't play drums at all and blah blah blah, and then i'm like "but... you just played... drums..." and he's like "yeah, i'm terrible"
j_harvey, actually, has been fired from soundchecking drums.
like:
soundman: "snare!"
jason: [tap. tap. CRAK CRAK tap]
soundman: "WTF! SNARE!"
jason: [CRAK tap]
jason: [tap]
soundman: "where's the drummer, anyway?"

Wow. I think his drumming is really neat, particularly on
Isn't Anything, where it sounds like he's messing up on every fill.
I really really hate Stuart Copeland, I guess. He is the worst thing about the Police, a band with no redeeming qualities.

No offense taken. There has been a large amount of shit drummers from Ireland. Larry Mullan: you are Ringo with stupider hair.
Joss from The Dudley Corporation is a notable exception. Joss is one of my favourite drummers ever. He's ace.

I never cared for the drumming on any post-Mothers Zappa record, except for those with Chester Thompson on them. I think those guys help do away with a lot of that music.

The guy from Pelican can't keep time.
Ringo Starr is a fucking good drummer. As is Phil Collins.
Does anyone here know the Smog song "A Hit" ? It has the most woefully/beautifully inept drums I've ever heard. They're so out of time that I figured Bill Callahan just overdubbed them himself, but then one day I was reading the liner notes to Accumulation None and found out that he actually got someone in to play those drums live. If you know the song, this fact beggars belief. Still, they are wholly crap in a good way.
