so Newcastle ... looks like Owen is not going to the WC ! too bad for the english ....
Too good more like. No Rooney and no Owen means no unrealistic expectations and less bullshit from more rested players. England play better as underdogs with strong opposition, and without the tidal wave of hype and pressure and crap the team and the public have to endure every two years. Looking forward to it.
Maybe Peter Crouch will be helped by 'la mano de dios' this time...

i agree completely.
i'd call up teddy sheringham, honest to god.
fuck the FA for firing eriksson before the world cup.
it's akin to firing a chef and asking him to make you supper on the way out.
as for peter crouch, well, would you believe he has been the subject of a
poll on this very forum?

I live 500 metres north of the River Trent. I am just a tiny little bit Northern then.
I think that as soon as you start getting vernacular names for bread rolls, you're in the North. As far south as Coventry they call 'em "batches". Here in Nottingham it's cobs. Anywhere where they have retarded names for bread rolls, it's the North.

May I add 'barm' and 'stottie'?
Serving chips with gravy, the availability of Wright's pies and/or Seabrook crisps are further indicators of being in the North.
