Every house that has sold on the block since ours has been more expensive w/ less sq. ft.
The only reason we got the house was because of the 20% down, we actually underbid (unheard of in daly city)
we also got very lucky because the house had "sold" 2x that year, both times the sale didnt pass (fake 0% down bids got rejected by the lender after further scrutiny)
We are not flippers and everyone always congratulates us on our "starter home" and "we can always move up to something better" i just smile
The house is 2X the size of what I thought we would get and I have no desire to ever move as its one of the nicest places you can get near my work.
but yeah I gave up buying anything else other than my house , some beer, a few video games every month.
Better hope my 99honda civic lasts 30 more years
