Concerning the King of Beers,
Most Americans say: not crap
Most Euros say: crap
I think this says something about American tastes in general. Americans like their beer watered down like they like their sugar bleached extra white like they like their cheese over-processed like they like their vegetables genetically modified like they like their sex censored like they like their beaches clothed like they like their 7 Elevens on every corner like they like their neighborhoods bleached white like they like their coffee weak like they like their speed limits low like they like their political leaders to mask their agendas under the guise of God like they like their fast food like they like their national security...
okay, maybe there's no connection...

Good god what awful crap this beer is.
If I'm broke and want beer I would drink High Life, PBR or god forbid even Coors Light before I would ever consider Budweiser.
BLEH!
CRAP!

Budwesier is fine.
It's nothing special. It's just a beer.
Given the choice between the Miller and the Budweiser and the Coors... I'll take the Budweiser.
Add just about anything else in the mix, I'd probably opt for that.
anything else of standards: Labatt's, Upper Canada, Michelob.
You know, Stroh's is actually really good for being one of the cheapo's. I'd take that over PBR anyday.

I grew up in the northeast so Labatt's Blue was the mainstay beer. I'd take that over Bud any day.

i used to be a beer snob.
then one day it occurred to me: beer is not health food. i'm not getting any benefit from paying more. i am only getting drunk.
i should probably pay as little as possible for the kind of drunk i like to get. which is the kind that wears off in a about 2-3 hours. 6beers. $5 and some change.
taste does have nothing to do with it.

The bigger the advertising budget is, the crappier the beer is.

Not a good beer, but NOT CRAP.
When you live in NYC and you want buy a bottle of beer for less than $6, you buy Bud. Not because it's good, but because it's generally the best of the bottles a bar is going to have for $4 or $5 (unless they have Yuengling). I like PBR okay, but to say it actually tastes better than Bud? That's a real stretch. PBR is piss-weak.
Compared with all beers? Obviously, Bud is shit.
So it's a NOT CRAP, but with a big WF for the mercenary drinkers.

I am not a beer drinker, and I generally do not like the taste of beer. The only beer less appetising than Budweiser that I can think of is something known in this country as "Carling".
I never understood why Budweiser's advertisements always claimed that they were proud to make "fresh" beer. I thought that the whole point of fertilisation was that it took a long time?
