Well I'm not qualified to play pop-psychologist or anything, but my hunch is that this has more to do with Rachael's daughter being out of town and getting hurt than it does anything else. I honestly don't think that the misogyny is at an all-time high or anything. It's hard for me to say, because I'm in more of a "fuck it" kinda place right now than usual, so I'm not inclined to jump down anybody's throat for non-PC statements, at the moment anyway.

I would be very shocked to see Rachael being upset about something like uncouth subject matter (which in the past, I would think was something Rachael was good at dishing out) except for the daughter-away-from-home-getting-hurt circumstance.

A few months ago, I would have probably pounced on you for this thread, Rachael. But today, I don't see how it's worth getting into, for me. I have more than enough on my mind right now to be concerned with who is saying what about whom.

Sure, somewhat. That and the two other recent threads that goof on "lesbian witches". But my point is, I don't believe that these threads would have pushed Rachael over the edge, were it not for the much more significant situation with Narnia being away from home and hurt. I'm guessing that what Rachael wants out of EA right now is a place to go and find something to dig herself into, an engaging conversation or something to take her mind off how much she misses her kid. so when rachael sees something as stupid as (and much more actually problematic than) a ton of people posting their love for staind, and jumps in to call them out, i think it's stupid for every one to pounce on her. unless the message you want to send is "BOYZ CLUB, NO GIRLZ ALLOWED -- DON'T INTERRUPT THE CIRCLE JERK"

i also think it's inappropriate to bring her personal life into it and try to explain it away with that. i don't want to know about her personal life, and going into it when that's not the topic is as inappropriate as saying "she must be on the rag", or to try to put it in terms us males can understand, "he must not have jerked off enough today".
