Band: The Long Blondes.

I hadn't yet heard The Long Blondes, and was planning on keeping it that way. However, realising that this was nigh on impossible, especially considering where I live, I just played 'Autonomy Boy', and I have to say that it was better than I expected. I never want to hear it again however, and the fact that I was thinking 'it sounds a bit like UT' means of course that I am too old to truly appreciate this band.
They know that they're chasing the zeitgeist, and want to celebrate the quick flash, and that's fine. I've no problem at all with that. In purely musical terms, underachievement is the defining, pre-requisite character of what makes you a UK indie band. If you don't have that, you're not an indie band anymore, and the pretty girls and boys in nice clothes won't like you.
