Once they make a display that's as easy on the eyes as the physical page, I think being able to download an entire library into it and have it at your fingertips would be great.

It's one of the things I love about digital music. A whole library of music at my fingertips. Thanks to mp3s and their portability, I've been exposed to thousands of hours of wonderful music that I otherwise probably would've never heard.

And no, those Oakleys would not be cool because instead of the "Look at me, I have an iPod" white cord dangling from your ear, you'd have the "Look at me, I'm the Terminator" eXtreme sports wraparounds on your face.

i have a friend who's been making a free zine since the late 90's. in the last year he has offered an online version of it (just one long .pdf). he says it's already doubled his readership and he's printing less and less paper zines each issue. i like the online version better because i can blow up the text to retardedly large sizes for my strained eyes. it'll be even better when it gets more interactive and hopefully a better format.

i know it's not a novel, but still..

That I do not understand at all. Once again, let me state that I feel that if you like an album you should own a copy of it in a real format.

I understood you when you said you're not a big fan of the "MP3 revolution". I was just sort of throwing that question out there... I really do wonder if people would read a Bukowski book off of a portable device, or if they're rather have the real thing. I guess most people would rather have the book, because it'd probably be lighter to carry around in most cases.

The upload speed sucks! I have a fast DSL connection and it took me 45 minutes to upload just over 100 mb.
I don't know how I used to cope with dial up.

This guy is fantastic. He had an album with Billy Childish and a he wrote a song called "Me and J.G. Ballard." for this album. Currently, he is being fucked over by a major label in the states who has a double disk of recorded material that they will not release, nor will they give it to him to do anything with.

I do, on occasion. lulu.com has .pdf's of books for like .93. It saves on paper and shipping, and it's good to already have a book in digital format, in case I want to, you know, pick a passage or two from it and use them somewhere like an online forum.

Google has book .pdf's for free.
