also, it came online ready, at launch, in 1998. so good.

Agreed. But the launch date was 9/9/99.

Someone forgot to return it with the power cable. It was useless to me then. Never found a compatible cable, and threw it in the trash.

The dreamcast came out in the US on 9/9/99. it came out in japan in Nov '98.

Ahhh.

Old school 8-bit computers mate. It was okay that christmas my parents took pity on me and got me one of these:

Dunno if they had them in the US, but these bad boys were certainly NOT CRAP. You could copy cracked games off your mates, it had a wacky computer voice you could mess about with, you could get an extra disc drive (WOW) and you could even make music on them.

Oh yeah, we had the Amiga. We were all jealous of the one guy who had one, as we were jealous of his Commodore 128 when the rest of us still had C64's.

Yes, the Dreamcast is still awesome.

Every week my friends and I play Virtua Tennis 2 and Virtua Athlete 2K.

The Dreamcast arcade stick is the best video game controller ever.

Kaboom.

...but do you play Street Fighter??

Best video game controller? It looks pretty awesome, but for my wee hands the saturn pad is the best, or maybe an ascii pad/stick.

ps. there are still new games coming out for dreamcast.
Someone wants to search my house...what's a reasonable response to that? I know, I'll grab a fucking gun and threaten to kill them, at the end of the day everyone will be happy. Your mindset is fucked and you live in a dream world.
