I'm sure we can all think of some great nominees.

"Psycho Killer"

Amen.

With the death of my hard drive, I lost an MP3 of the original version of this (not the one that ended up on the album) which was spine-tingling. Possible one of my favorite songs of all time, because Byrne is so damned squirrelly.

Not that I dislike all of Eric Johnson's guitarring, but I thought this picture was pretty funny:

Is that the version where the most excruciating blast of feedback kicks off the solo? The screech in question is one of my favourite moments on record.

I forgot one...

Elmore James solo on Rollin and Tumblin. You'll never hear anyone get better mileage out of five notes.

Holy cock-rock Batman! Trash.

And in the line of one note solos, seeing this is an electrical site, I feel compelled to mention the lead on Coition Ignition Mission.

The solo in "Comfortably Numb" is the best thing in the song; the Scissors Sisters should have taken that into account.

"November Rain" is a very bad song and Slash's solo is horrible.

Big shout out to either Rick Derringer or Skunk Baxter for the blazing solo in Steely Dan's Do It Again.

Denny Dias would like a word with you.
