I don't think tupac was a great artist, but a popularizer of the form. I think rap music requires some key ingredients:

good poetry (metaphors, creativity, etc.)

good beat (rza, bomb squad, etc.)

good voice (rakim, chuck d, gza, etc)


I don't think tupac's music had any of the above.

Crap. Really. He had/s nothing. At least Snoop Dogg managed one good record. Plus that Beavis and Butthead episode where Gin and Juice comes on and Beavis reckons he is from the hood etc. is ace. 2Pac hasn't got a Beavis and Butthead episode. Double crap.

I'm not terribly hip-hop, I enjoy Dre and Snoop Dogg hits and learned how to like the cleverness of Emimen while in the military.

I'd say not crap just for Can't C Me, and Changes.

I like the songs where he just keeps going, not a fan of the one's where he sings slowly about baby's mamas or whatever. Can anyone more informed recommend more songs where he, I don't know what you'd call it, raps hard?
