Skinny Puppy never seemed scary to me. Too much like a cartoon... maybe I haven't heard the right stuff. Bass Communion has a CD called Ghosts on Magnetic Tape that can be kind of creepy. Some of Lustmord's (ug, that name...) can be creepy.

That's a wonderful CD.

I'd like to submit two:

1 - Swans "body to body, job to job" - i've never gotten thru the whole album once. i can only take a few songs at a time.

2 - not sure if it counts, but "the ghost orchid: an introduction to evp" album is a chilling listen. it's not technically music, but it's in that category with records like the conet project and sounds of american doomsday cults. they are cd's that are just really hard to listen to.
