Yeah, I know what you mean. Does anybody actually listen to WHPK, by the by? I swear to god I do not know a single person who listens to it.

I wouldn't be so quick to put down WHPK, they're the ones who are bringing Lightening Bolt to U of C. If you ever worked at WHPK, you'd know that you have listeners (they call) and even if you didn't, the record library is worth taking advantage of.

Anyways, all I know is i actually QUIT the station because I was sick of dealing with the hipster scene it has become. The Calvin Johnson Show was considerably less enjoyable because of all the posturing going on, but maybe I should've expected it because it was Calvin Johnson. I'll go to the LB show, but I just hope I'm not treated like shit because I'm not wearing size 0 pants or don't have a pixie haircut.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Anybody going to this should show up early, because the venue is small and they will turn people away.

At 4:30 am, if you play the "Dumbbells" EP at the wrong speed, people will call. FWIW.
Color me impressed.

Though I guess we don't actually sleep here. Seriously, this school has destroyed my survival instincts. I get too busy to sleep, then I assume that the discomfort I'm feeling is from lack of sleep and forget to eat, then I don't notice when I'm getting sick because I assume it's just hunger and tiredness...

You wanna give me a guess on the time you'd recommend? I won't hold you to it. thanks!
Err. Trepidation.

Considerations:
-It's free
-and the space is only going to fit 200 or so, they said
-which, in retrospect, makes the whole thing STUPID and they should have done it in a different location
-Show is at 9, so they'll probably let people in what, 8:30?

Maybe 7 would work?

If that's not enough, though, don't stab me to death. I'm not sure how many people this is going to draw, and it could potentially get absolutely idiotic.

Also, if you've never seen Lightning Bolt, it's best to show up early because they never play on a stage and the floor around them usually fills up pretty quick. So unless you're tall or don't mind lookign at the back of thirty people's heads, I recommend being there early. Bring earplugs as well. (Last Sunday I could FEEL Lightning Bolt through my floorboards.)
