The Sopranos Final Episodes...

This weeks episode was really fantastic, in my personal opinion. Great writing. I thought my TV was fucking up during the restaurant scene with Silvio, when I realized what was really happening I think I muttered "Holy Shit!" Just really well done all around. I know the last couple of seasons have had flashes of greatness mixed with pure dreck, but this season is shaping up to be incredible.

"CLEAVER" the movie, awesome.

Probably a stupid question:

At the end of Sunday's episode when Phil went on his little rant and said, "no more Butchy". Was he saying, "no more of this, I'm out, I'm not going to step up". Or was he saying, "I ain't taking anymore of this shit that my family has been taking since they came over here" (i.e., declaring war in a a roundabout way)?

Whatever that song was at the end of the episode was weird and fucked up and awesome.

My read on it, so take it for what it is, Phil, after swallowing shit for years, isn't going to back down anymore. I forgot to mention; Frank Vincent is scary good on this show.

I did a search. The name of the song is "Evidently Chickentown" by John Cooper Clarke. I think I will be buying one of his cd's soon.

That's what I thought, too. I thought he was looking at those pictures of all the dead guys and plotting revenge. The girl thought he was looking at it as, "I don't want to end up on that wall". We talked about it back and forth for like an hour.

Leotardo is going to blow up real good. He's going to start in Brooklyn by wacking the dude that just offed his brother ("Doc"?), and whoever else is in his way. There is no more Johnny Sack keeping him in check. Once he's boss of NY, he's going to try to avenge his nephew or whoever it was that Buschemi capped. Prolly go after Chrissy, or even AJ or Janice if he's particularly not giving a shit.

Chrissy is on borrowed time. If Phil doesn't get him, the second Tony feels he's not earning enough, that will be that. Chris' movie is a pretty clumsy/obvious fantasy. Tony is not at all convinced that the dude from "Wings" made up the plot of "Cleaver" based on another movie. So there it is. Chrissy is toast either way. Plus he's a hothead. He'll probably bring it on himself, like they often do in this show. Alternate theory - he'll do something stupid, get caught, flip, everybody goes down.

Paulie, same thing. He's gonna continue his douchebaggery, and will be dispatched. But he may take a few people down with him.

Sil lives. He always gets by.

Yeah, Tony is starting to think he wants out, but if he can't bring himself to leave, he's going to go all out the other way. And that is the way it will play out, regardless of how touched he was with little Carmine's speech - I think he's more touched because he knows AJ just doesn't have it in him to be a gangster. I haven't decided yet if Tony survives the series or not. No way Phil gets to him. More like Phil gets to Chrissy or somebody else close, then Tony dismembers him with his teeth, but the price was still too high, yadda yadda. Anyway, if anybody gets Tony, it will be an inside job, or a shootout with the Feds.

Or not.
