My asshole looked like this -

What a human being. The bit about talking to his dog late a night. The bit about how he loved his ex wife when she passed away, or his uncle who would remark "well is'nt this nice" whenever it was. Standing Ovation for Mr Vonnegut.

Ha. I was going to be the one to do that. Last night I was mulling over who I need to read more of, and Vonnegut is one.
Bugger. Sad to see him go.
Sad, but as Mazec said, he had a pretty good innings.
I just started re-reading Slaughterhouse 5 two nights ago. Which of his other books are worth checking out?

champion of breakfast is i think the most famous one and it's easily possible to read in one evening. it's good, but not obviously better than his other works. i highly recommend cat's cradle, it's simply vonnegut at his best. i alsko really like jailbird, it;s a bit different that most of his books but it doesn't get mentioned on the best of KV lists very often.

Mother Night is my favorite. It was his third novel, and it's totally non-sci-fi.
It often gets called one of his more boring, "formative" works by the critics.

I second this!

Figures. Anything really good is usually backhandedly belittled by the critics.

Damn, I didn't think I'd ever come across somebody who felt the same way.
Vonnegut!
