Personally, whenever I tour in the U.S. I bring two maps: one with every Cracker Barrell listed, the other with every Flying J truck stop.

I'm at the point where I flat-out refuse Denny's, Shoney's, Waffle House, and pretty much everything else but Cracker Barrell (for breakfast, anyway). IHOP will do in a pinch, but I'd rather scrounge up a meal from a gas station or eat some fruit than pay money to eat at one of these places.

For dinner, get the club to give you a buyout and ask someone with taste where the good shit is. During the day, peguin-walk at Whole Foods for stuff to eat en route. But for God's sake, don't take me to a fuckin' Denny's.

lol. i so don't fit this bill. although i did remember several days later that right near where the van-havin part of the crew was staying was a big strip-mall that is essentially "little vietnam". there have to be some good restaurants in there somewhere. too little too late, eh?
