It's a notion that perhaps shouldn't be looked at retrospectively, as hard as that is.
There just seems to be something mildly fucking irritating about bands that stick around long enough to release a 2nd album.
Hey, I know what I mean, even if no one else does.

If the debut were the only thing a band released, there would be a lot more shitty bands. They wouldn't have the time to develop, and mature.

bollocks. they would take the time to develop and mature before releasing their album (if they were a good band that is).

How about: bands should have to change their names and one other defining factor when releasing their second album.
