It's like there's an expected behavior among scenesters there, and anything that shakes that behavior is shunned or looked down upon.
To play devil's advocate, dude, i've seen this same shit in Milwaukee. Lots of it.
Not the shit El Protoolio and I get. Au' Naturale and strait from the scource!

Fair enough, but over the last 12 years I've managed to surround myself with different groups of people who love dressin' up goofy, spittin' beer and hollarin at bands. Such behavior tends to frighten/annoy Chicagoans.

I'd argue the exact opposite...but I'm only speaking for Madisonians. Chicago is louder man...Chicago don' give a fuck about you. The amount of ribbing I took at the last Bear Claw show (in a practice space behind a dark alley with some kind of "ethnic" scuffle that ensued while I was talking with someone in Imperial Battlesnake) greatly out-hassled my entire Madison experience.
Some lesbian(?) type told me to "stop acting like a girl," for passing the bowl the wrong way
one time and some drunk dude would give me shit just for passing him the piece (that he wanted). All in good fun, but Chicago is hard...Milwaukee has Pitchfork pussy shit like Terrior Bute and the Box Social...but I'll be learnin' more about Mil-town in the coming days...

Also, the Brewers will fade or get pwned in the playoffs. Luckily for them, the NL Central is probably the shittiest division in baseball (of course, I haven't been following the National League too much lately).
So suck a fuck, chuckk.

OK, now you're just way the fuck off base if you think anyone in either of those bands gives a flying
fuck about Pitchfork.
WAY off base.
Oh, and let's not forget where Pitchfork is based, if we're gonna play it like that...

Maybe not the former, but I know both of these bands dude. I had a CLASS with one of the Box Socialites. He wants to get famous as fuck.
Checked their MySpace lately, Dr? It's embarassing. Listen to Hot Damn all the way through, okay? Just listen to it. You will be horrified and apologetic.

No it annoys people who have manners and a respect for the strangers around them who paid just as much as you did to see the same show. So could you stop acting like a 12 year old for an hour or so? It's not just all about you and your friends. Thanks pal.

Additionally, Pitchfork is born of Minneapolis...moved to Chicago. Take it back, Minnesota.
And listen to the Box Social's MySpace.
I will say that Ryan Coogan of Terrior Bute is a fucking stand-up dude.

This is where it becomes obvious you don't know what you're talking about.
I love Milwaukee. I've never felt more at home anywhere. Chicago has its good points and bad.
Madison is full of assholes (apart from the members of Droids Attack).
