26I like the Libertines, but Pete was the true star and his leaving was inevitable.
I actually like Babyshambles even more:
For MUSICAL reasons, not drug use cult of personality.
"Albion"
"32nd of December"
"La Belle et la Bete"
all great.
I feel sorry for the rest of the Libertines because they would have just gotten better had he stayed and it all worked out well.
I have not heard Carl's new stuff at all, so my judgement is in ignorace a bit...

Liar. They're just one part of this huge group of interchangeable bands.

30i love the libertines... they are one of those bands where the first second i heard them i just knew they were for me. very disappointed when they broke up, but i have to disagree where people say doherty was the star. he had the cult of personality, sure, but as far as post-libertines output, i much prefer dirty pretty things. didn't like baby shambles at all at first, but i have to admit that i've warmed up to it recently. initially down in albion just sounded like sloppy, shit wank... and most of it still does, but there's something to it (something weird) i'm willing to investigate further.
anyhoo, libertines not crap. in fact, one of my favorites ever.
