FACE.

MELTED.

I am really glad I got everyone out of the darkrooms early tonight, because Weedeater are A-Fucking-credible.

I got two of their records and cannot wait to play them tomorrow.

Dixie might just be the sludgemetal version of Al Johnson. Through the whole set I kept thinking of how to photograph him, to best capture his facial expressions. He sings crosseyed. CROSSEYED. And sometimes his eyes roll into the back of his head.

Their drummer plays fucking Vistalites. Blue ones.

I was completely impressed.

ok... what's the big fucking deal about weedeater? there are a billion boring stoner/sludge bands with boring 70s blues-metal riffs and expensive amps. what's the big deal???????????????

ok i see guy from buzzove and steve recorded... is that it? there are so many of these bands coming out the woodworks right about now.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but their show embodied everything I like about rock in one neat little package.

It was loud.
It had a singer who is a showman.
They were enjoying themselves.
Their songs have a no-bullshit quality to them.

Since I like the Melvins, Sleep, Black Sabbath, and Meshuggah, these guys are a no-brainer for me. I am only sorry I did not hear of them sooner.
