Last song that really inspired you

After much consideration, I have decided on at least two songs to be played at my wake, whenever that may be.

Jackson 5 - "I Want You Back" and "ABC"

Why? Because it is impossible not to smile while these two songs are playing, and I want an Irish wake.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

It makes me want to make a voice led song with minimal conga playing and where most of what you hear is the sound of the air moving.

You know "The Jungle Line" on The Hissing of Summer Lawns, I take it?

Nope. Turbulent Indigo and Sire of Sorrow are the second and third Joni Mitchell songs I've ever heard in my life, both of which I was introduced to this month. The first was that Big Yellow Taxi one which I've known forever. Weird to think I've never heard anything else by her.

Check out "The Jungle Line," and buy a copy of Court and Spark immediately. It's a masterpiece.

I put a copy of this record on the sendspace thread...it's not like Joni will see a dime of it anyway.

The clouds are full of wine
Not whiskey or rye
'n the sky is full of bluebrains,
Bluejays, mermaids
Bluebrains, bluejays, bluebirds, mermaids
bluejays, bluebirds, rainbows
'n the night is full of rhinestones,
Pinecones, telephones
'n the sky is full of rhinestones, pinecones, telephones
Wolfhowls, milkcows
Shadows to some hows
'n the clouds are full of wine
Not whiskey or rye
'n the sky is full of bluebrains,
Baboons, rhinos, fools 'n buffoons
'n my eyes are full of bloodbones,
Snowcones, serenaders 'n sen-n-n-oritas
'n so on...
Melodies that go on, go on,
Go on, go on, go on, go on,
Go off, go off, go off, go off
