It's pretty, the food's good, the people are nice, the AT is right there.

This is true, Asheville is a town in the mountains that has several colleges, and didn't bulldoze it's downtown area like Charlotte did in the 1970's. --Lot's of cool progressive stuff is there, which is a rarity in the south.
