I like you enough that I wont PWN you here, kiddo, but next time get your facts straight.

I didn't mean it as an insult, Just sayin'. I spend a couple of weekends there, and I was just amazed at the lack of stuff to do.

I'm not taking it personally, just pointing out how wrong you are.

I'll be the first person to admit that it's a tough city to crack at first, but there's a hell of lot going on here. It's a better live music city than either Minneapolis or Milwaukee, which I lived in for about two and twenty-four years, respectively. It's only dreadfully lame and provincial if you're not in the right places, circles, etc.

I don't think so. I think it all points to at least Shane and possibly both of them needing to stay within a control drama where they can feel persecuted. It's not just attention, it has to be acting out and then receiving negative attention, and they have to be able to say "we are the victims!!" It all comes from Shane's shit relationship with his father. Amy is probably an enabler and a perpetual broken-guy-fixer, keepng the status quo that works for both of them. kinda like the dark, edgy version of Marge Simpson.

So surprising that they're looking to help us get out of our complacent lives, huh? If they shake you out of the life you've built for yourself, that must validate them, especially if they're actual LaVeyan Satanists who live for that kind of bullshit. and if they fail, there's a fine chance you'll take offense at their having tried, and maybe get angry, at which point you're part of "the system" that's oppressing them. win-win, in that sense, the drama either way, so that's nice for them.

hopefully it won't take a whole year on the road for them to realize this shit. it took me reading about three posts and one news article.

the signature line with the god and devil shit was a strong hint at what was to come. I would never have guessed it would be this, though.

I don't undestand why you're such a sourpuss.

Fact of the matter is, they're taking the initiave to embark upon a potentially interesting project, go out there and meet people, see what's happening in places they've never been to, etc.

I didn't look at the link in any detail yet but I fail to see the harm in any of this. At least they're actively doing something, which is more than I can say for a lot of people.

Hmmm... Maybe I should've looked at the link first.

But whatever. I'll give people the benefit of the doubt, forty minutes of my time, etc. What's the worst that could happen?

Why/how do you know so much about these people?

Plus scott and badcomrade are just fulfilling the persecution complex that scott has theorized.
I'm not defending or attacking here, just meddling as I usually do.

I don't know shit about them from anything but what Amy's putting out there, just this thread and the West Memphis 3 thread. I haven't even clicked the links in her signature yet. Maybe they'll totally change my mind and I'll feel like more of a jackass than I already do, and I'll apologize.

Really, I'm just meddling as well, which I was intentionally restrainng myself from doing up until Amy's decision to post a link to the news article. At that point, it seemed like all reasonable boundaries were willfully removed, so...

Yeah, that's what I figured.

They seem like fun-loving goofs and I often get along strangely well with folks like that.

I would agree with Justin, though, Amy, in that it would probably be best, for the success of your project here, to underplay the political aspect and make it tangetial to your "self-discovery."
