They richly deserve my Crap vote but K. Shields going nuts on the song "Accelerator" is a joy forever. Not Crap, WF 9.99(repeat to infinity minus one).

"they really suck when trying to be the stones"

-so that's all the time then? Apart from when they pretend to be The Stones who accidntally turned up at a rave and got a bit confused.

I saw them in a bar in Edinburgh in 1984 and they were OK, rattled their reverb springs through a WEM copicat and made noises like Charlie McNair's sandwich shop going into orbit. It's been a steady decline since then.

CRAPPPPPPPPPPP!

ok, so maybe the last record is a piece of shit. but the shifts between screamadelica, vanishing point & xtrmntr are glorious. in screamadelica they were mixing the southern stones rock with dancefloor and dub. and were talkin 1991 or something. come on, xtrmntr with that amphetamine rock mixed with this kraut a la Neu! you dont get that way too often. and do they rock live? just check them and youll notice they aint crap

Um, no. People are suddenly happy to entertain abstract ideas such as 'rock is dead' after they have witnessed Bobby Gillespie happily buttfucking it's corpse. This is his special gift to the world. The corporate middle-management guy singing U2's 'One' in front of his work colleagues on youtube has a less ossified and atrophied vision of 'rock rebellion' than this clown.

Crap.

ok then i guess the rush of having seen live fucking legends like gary mani mounfield and kevin shields made me forget that bobby gillespie is such a poser, who gives a shit when they play live shoot speed kill light and others creating this humongus feedback wall of sound jesus that was like being on lsd without taking it

I still say Not Crap just because of the guitar on "Accelerator" but these two sentences have left me speechless with joy.
