I hate you David Bowie. And you Ian Curtis. And Nico, you suck too, but you were good in that Fellini flick.

Oh Calvin Johnson, if I have to meet one more girl who says she "used to date" you, I'll sneak over and tune your guitar while you slumber.

You're just being perverse for the sake of it. That combination is impossible. The odds are too great.

Mark Lansing wrote:I don't get Joy Division. There are a few good songs in their catalog, but when someone tries to explain to me why they're supposed to be one of the geatest bands of all time, I can't help but think, "You're kidding me, right?"

If Ian Curtis were alive today, they would not have the reputation they currently enjoy. I'm certain of this.

you're right on that reputation thing.

as for a couple good songs, yeah, right on that too. the first half of "still" are the majority of those good songs.

Nope, I actually dislike those three, and I get shit for it all the time so you can say what you will. I've always hated Bowie, and the other two i've always been underwhelmed by.

Granted, the only music I listen to is Killdozer and feedtime pretty much, so perhaps i'm not qualified to even judge who these "Sacred cows" are.

I'm obscenely critical, and I'm not proud of it. If you can be eclectic, here's to you!

Calvin Johnson is the twee version of Gene Simmons.

He's probably fucked every single girl that has ever worn a bra under a stripy vest.

SecondEdition wrote:True. Quadrophenia is overrated. There's just not enough meat for a double there. I love Tommy and Who's Next, but I'll give you that they lost it after that. Live at Leeds and Sell Out are my favorites too. Though that may change once I hear the debut.
Quadrophenia has a couple of my favorite Who tracks - songs that are big and lifting and actually have lyrics that aren't uniformly crappy - and a lot of other shit that doesn't need to be there.

Tommy annoys the shit out of me, as does about half of Who's Next.

The thing about The Who is that their albums will always be overrated because their albums are catching reflected glory from their live performances, which kind of made everybody forget about the rest. I mean, Live At Leeds has some songs on it that are just fucking retarded, yet it's an amazing album.

Helmet / Page Hamilton.

Aside from 2 or 3 great songs, it all starts to sound the same to me.
