Downtuning and heavy strings is fine for experimenting, but you really will want the longer scale once you figure out how you like it. The additional definition is heavy as hell.

just plug the holes. big headstocks are cool.

Gretsch's baritones are pretty cheap. You gotta like the retro though.

That looks amazing.

So you're cutting the headstock where the line is? It'll look pretty tough, similar to a Justin Trosper / Unwound guitar, especially if you square-off the end of it.

You can make a decent bari out of nearly any 24-25.5 scale guitar(longer the better), the only real catch is the low e and a strings. Youd need a bridge with some serious throw on those strings as theyll need to be backed way up to intonate properly. If you need any help let me know, making a new bridge plate that allows for extra travel is easy.
