Peter Hook in the Joy Division days? Hiwatt DR103 into a 4X12 with Celestion 30's. There's a bit of speaker clipping on bass there. He's hitting a max total 120 watt cab with a guitar head that he's playing bass through. I read somewhere he had everything on 10 with that set up.

Fred Erskine in Hoover/Crown Hate Ruin. I believe he played with an Ampeg 8X10 and GK800RB that had several (eventually) blown speakers due to him clipping the speakers with his dubby fingerstyle.

Mike Watt, early Minutemen stuff when he's playing with a pick and a Peavey head.


(perhaps none of this is really speaker clipping, but it ain't just the head..)
