Need you? Oh, don't worry - we don't.

Take no offense, my hometown neighborhood in Boston MA was as ghettofied as they come. I grew up sleeping at night to the sounds of police sirens, car crashes and occasional gunshots.

Everyone tells me there are real nice parts to Oaktown.

Nobody has ever told me that about Daly City.

But anyway - Tacoma: I like it. Prone to the occasional serial killer, but generally pleasant. The aroma, not so much, but as a city - potentially great.

ROFL are you trying to say the crime/murder rate of DC and Oakland are comparable? I am not saying DC is the presidio of SF or the Marina district, but lets get real. I called oaktown for what it is, I'm sorry if that offends you but there is nothing I can do about its obscene murder rate.

Then again SF has had a brutal couple of years w/ murder rates after doing very well in the early 2000s so no one is safe, from DEATH!

Hah! No apologies are necessary, that is a true statement. Soon I will be free of Spokane.. Soon I will once again know what happiness feels like!

I haven't been to Tacoma but saying it's the most dangerous place in WA probably isn't saying that much at all; Washington isn't that dangerous of a place as far as I am concerned or know.

The 1 time I went to seattle me and my then girlfriend had another argument, she ran off mad, alone, at night, in a strange city (she ALWAYS did shit like that, one of the main things I'd argue w/ her about)

anyhoot she runs by 2 sketchy looking dudes sitting in an empty lot doing who knows what, looked like counting vials or something, she ran by, 1 immediately stood up and started fast walking after her, I ran after then all, by the time I caught up a real young looking cop was already harrassing the junkie for unrelated reasons, he never caught up to my ex thank god.

Anyhoot reminded me of any other major city

All that i really want is a small quiet life away from the hustle of Southern
California.
Life here tends to be fast and shallow. I want some slow and meaningful. Good local watering holes, great used book and music shops.

I can wear winter clothes most of the time, let my dog run up and down the beach without a friggin' ticket. Southern Ca. will nickel and dime your ass. It just doesn't seem to be worth the struggle anymore.

I've been a wage slave barely living from check to check for almost 12 years.

What i will miss is significantly less than what i wont miss.

Thank you for the insight / advice.

Salut, Glynnis, for being one of the few people in this state who have their head firmly rooted outside of their ass.
