yknow, they say a bunch of good musicians are from brooklyn. i know one such brooklyn musician-resident, helluva musician (multi-instruments), i suppose i can put you in contact with him.

if drum machines and thrash/sludge guitar riffing are of any use to you, i'm in manhattan.

NY Craigslist can be totally shitty, but I actually found both my bands on there.

The only way to go about the whole process is to be persistent - - like stupidly persistent.

For instance, you post an ad saying what you're looking for and when you get 19 ridiculous responses (all written in caps,) just post it again. Just keep doing it until you get what you want.

I was on there the other day and I literally saw the same dopey neanderthal of a man posting about his stupid band needing a keyboard player that I did six months ago. And you know what? I guarantee the dude will eventually find what he's looking for.

Another thing I had to learn about the whole thing was, you'll never find the ideal situation, so stop looking. I used to post these super-detailed ads like "...must like 2nd Jimmy Eat World record, but only the 2nd one," and it just alienates people, you know?

The best results I've had have been in responding to or placing an ad that loosely sort of outlines what I'm looking for. That way, you leave some of the variables to the rock gods, and the planets are free to align.

Yeah?
