I have owned both and there is no difference in the quality to my way of thinking. I had the non-master volume converted to a master volume with no adverse affect and it looked original.
Agreed.
Personally, I don't care much if one does/does not have a master vol. I don't use the 'gain' to gain it up, though, so I guess no master vol is more my speed.
