Hmmm... I never experienced any of that. When I quit taking Zoloft I just stopped, with no problems whatsoever.
I was on a higher-than-usual dose (so I was told), but nothing really outrageous or anything.

i took Effexor for a few months for anxiety, and that stuff was the worst.
i wrote about the side effects of not taking it
here after having it turn me into what seemed like a middle of the road snoozlebore zombie with no passion for anything except sleep and half-smiling.
ever felt like your brain was wobbly jello inside your skull? ever felt like your extremities were getting shocked with pins loaded up with electric charges? that's Effexor withdrawal for you..
i don't doubt these findings.

oh man i've read that stopping certain ones cold can cause you to have a stroke. and after experiencing those withdrawals, i don't doubt it in the least.

When I first went on Zoloft, I asked for a copy of the little sheet that comes with the boxed pills.
When I unfolded it, the little slip of paper was a long strip about 3' long. The doctor chuckled and asked, "Plan on doing a little light reading?"

Paxil is awful. My doctor put me on it once, and didn't warn me about any of the horrible side effects it causes. The worst side effect is what they call
"brain shivers".

When ever I try to get off of Paxil, I get most of the symptoms stated above. The dizziness and head aches suck the worst.
I am convinced that I will only be able to kick em if I check in some where I can be watched. I've been as far as 4 days cold turkey and I'll never do that again. I made it 2 weeks on a staggered dose and then when I stopped all together, I wanted to bite off human heads. I wasn't this way before being prescribed the dope.

"Brain shivers"?
From that description, it sounds like one of the symptoms of heroin withdrawal.
BTW I'd consider seeing...

friend, DO NOT go cold turkey. you are risking serious brain damage. staggered doses are the only way and it takes as long as 2 months.
