What about Nels Cline? He's an amazing guitarist. He just doesn't throw every lick he know's into every song he plays.

Fripp has always been my ace in the hole when arguing with "you just hate shred guitar because you can't personally shred like they do"- type douchebags. Same with Nels Cline on older Watt solo records.
