clean boost pedal

I have a Sucka Punch by Devi Evers I would think that any avertised clean boost pedal by her would be good.

Voodoo labs has a boost pedal that I have heard good things about also the line of TC electronic pedals have one. I would think that they would be worth investigating if for no other reason you are going to be sinking around $400 on the zvex SHO pedal. He makes good pedals and I am sure you could be happy with it.

finally i went to the local shop to see if they had any boost pedal and i've find the bbe boosta grande, the mxr micro and the mxr custom audio company.
The seller gave me all the 3 pedals to test in relax at home!

Just finished with the testing and as for the sound they are identical, none of them color the tone, just make my amp sound brighter and place emphasis on the harmonics.

The difference between these pedals are that the bbe is noiseless while both the mxr have a little hiss; the mxrs have more gain.
Definitively, the only difference between the mxr seems to be the look!

I've also found that all the 3 pedals kill a bit of dynamics even when the gain is supposed to be zero (and you can easily a/b by pressing the switch).

What do you think about this last point? have you experienced it?

The dynamic response will depend on your amp and how the amp is set. Through an amp with a cleaner sound with a lot of headroom, you shouldn't experience a loss of dynamic response. With an amp that is very near saturation, where the dynamic range is already small, then you might expect a small loss of dynamic range.

For example, with my YBA-1A, there's always a ton of dynamic range. But with my fake-Marshall, which I already have set up for near maximum gain, using the boost with even a little bit of gain, it makes the amp less responsive and anything more than just a little gain makes it sound like crap; the amp is already set for nearly as much gain as it can handle, and it's already near the maximum distortion.

What amp are you using and how is it set up?

I've happily used a MXR Micro Amp (M133) for a few years. Handy little pedal. So versatile.

I've used it in front of a distortion pedal to add more crunch to the distortion. As a volume boost during a live situation. At the end of a long pedal chain to boost the signal and just on it's own to add a little extra to clean sounds.

it's a Fender Princeton, a small 12W combo amp, silverface version.
It has a lot of clean headroom, it gets a small crunch at 10.

anything more than just a little gain makes it sound like crap; the amp is already set for nearly as much gain as it can handle, and it's already near the maximum distortion.

Yes, in fact it's been losing dynamic when it is set to 10 and pushed by the booster, it gets less responsive like you said.

The better stage when pushed by the booster is any position between 5 and 9, it takes out the best from this amp. I'm very satisfied.

EDIT: the bbe booster adds a full range of bass freq when the knob is turned half the way up, i consider this to be an undesired effect but it could turn out good for someone.
