I have a music practical exam tomorrow, I have to perform eight minutes of music in front of an examiner.

I'm doing Hoosker Doo's Ice Cold Ice and Tar's Dean Martin. They are meant to be "grade five standard", I think for Ice Cold Ice I can get away with it but for dean Martin if asked I'll just say "err, it goes from 4/4 to 3/4."

A certain fail for sure. Screw music, especcially Baroque music.

Sometimes I'll wake up from a dream where I've overslept and missed an exam. I guess it's a pretty common dream, even for people who've been out of school for decades. hooray for not being in school anymore.

In a month or two's time I'll have:
Analogue electronics and transform techniques.
Digital electronics and communications .
Data structures and algorithms.
Numerical methods.

Fuck.

I also have a lab report on "Digital Sequences and Correlation in Linear Systems" due in on friday, and I just handed in a Microprocessors report yesterday.
On top of all that I had a recording portfolio to hand in last week, but I think i did pretty well with that.
My degree title is Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems.
I have little sympathy for all the English students I know whinging about their one seminar per term or whatever... lazy fuckers.

Brett teaches literature. If you find yourself writing a multiple choice exam in a literature course, you need to step up your college application procedure.

In mine, I oversleep and almost miss an exam, but I make it, and it's an exam for a class that I signed up for and forgot that I signed up for and never attended and have no knowledge about or aptitude for or reason to take, like an advanced math/science course. Scary dreams.

I still have nightmares about Invertebrate Biology exams, as does my father. I took the class in 2005 and he took it over 30 years ago. Invertebrate Biology is the academic equivalent of constantly being raped by dogs. I hope that none of you are in I.B., and if you are, may god have mercy on your eternal souls.
