Rachael, Chris, and Narnia: y'all are in my thoughts. Best of luck with dealing with this ordeal, and I hope everything turns out okay. It's very very natural to feel upset and panicked over a crisis like this. But keep in mind, while the human body is profoundly vulnerable, and susceptible to any number of things, it's also quite resilient. (And those doctors gotta know what they're doing.)

I was going to say something similar.

The collapsed lung--people I know who have had one say it hurts like a son of a bitch, but it can be treated relatively easily.

If it happens in a hospital, and they're waiting for it? She will be OK.

I would be beside myself if it was my kid, regardless.

But I would just count 100% on her being fine. There's no reason to dwell on any other possibility, and any other possibility is very unlikely.

Got a call from Rachael a little bit ago. Narnia's out of surgery and in recorvery now. It took them an hour and a half to get the needle out, but at least they didn't have to cut her open.

Well, that's a relief. Kid+hospital= CRAPx1000. I hope she's not too frazzled. My best wishes for a speedy recovery.
