They are our natural enemies.

how can you say they put out the same records??? every record they've released has been a departure from the last. the first album was barely different from june of 44, and each one seperated them more and more. they've experimented with different members AND instrumentation. and what's with the "angular" term? are you saying you listen to only "straight" music? when i think of "angular" (which i don't like to use as a description) i think of hella or breadwinner. not the smmoooth flowing jams of "one of america's best bands".

well here's my hopefully heartfelt 2 cents.

Rodan was one of the best bands of all time. as far as Shipping News goes, i have the 1st record, and i've blissfully shaked my obooty (the o-shaped one) to a few other songs i've heard since. i say Jason & Jeff, thank you thank you thank you for yr brilliant creative collobarations, may the wind be at yr back and may the smart-alecks fall by the wayside...

look forward to seeing you on tour one of these moons,

lovelars

there is no such thing as winners and losers when it comes to art. however, there are opinions. i loved rodan, some parts of june of 44 and my opinion is that they are treading water at this point. even some of my favorite bands fall into this rut and it’s depressing and i have the same feelings about them. i believe that when it comes to art of any kind, once you get a formula for what you are doing, you need to throw it away and move forward.

it’s funny being labeled a troll and an asshole for having an opinion. not my fault that it’s in regards to a band you feel can do no wrong.

I own "Save Everything", and although I haven't heard it many times yet... I wasn't really that impressed. It usually takes me a while to get into a band though. Especially if I am genuinly going to like them. It's funny how it works that way. I've been meaning to give it a few more listens anyways.

Anyone have an album to recommend by these guys?
