Last time I watched SNL was about 2 years ago. After about 15 minutes, I switched to a documentary about the Titanic on the History Channel which I found to be far less depressing.

Kattan. Fallon. Two worst fucking cast members on that show ever. Not a single sketch was worth the time they took from my life. Damn them to hell.

I didn't mind Colin Quinn or Kevin Nealon all that much.

Victoria Jackson was pretty shit. Horatio Sanz was in some funny sketches but only as a complement, when a sketch centered around him, lame.

The best thing about Sanz and Fallon was watching them crack each other up when in sketches together. Especially when the sketch was tanking.

C'mon. Martin fucking Short. Always seemed forced. Never made me laugh out loud once. Short on funny(HAHAHAHAHAHA).

How's about Julia Louis Dreyfuss? She wasn't funny when she was in the SNL cast.

Fallon had plenty of funny moments. And in case anybody missed it, he hasn't been on Weekend Update, or the show for that matter, for years now. After he left, it was Fey and Poehler, which was also frequently funny. Then when Fey left, they replaced her with Meyers. It's not as good with the current lineup, but it's still lightyears ahead of Quinn, who fucking sucked beyond suck as the Weekend Update guy. Miller was plenty good when it was his.

The current lineup can be damn funny with the right host and the right sketches.

Both of the Christopher Walken-hosted episodes I've seen had some shining moments, and showed what the cast is capable of, with a good host and good writing.

My favorite Weekend Update bit I've seen in the past couple/few months was something like "Madonna moved to England because she doesn't like the US as much anymore, she said New York isn't as vibrant and exciting as it was in the 80's... to which New York replied, 'right back atcha'". The presentation was right-on.

The show's been funnier in the past few/several years than it was for a long time previously, probably since the early Wayne's World era, and before that, the first couple/few seasons.

Hammond has pretty much always been great. I wonder how many years he's got left.

Anybody know who the folks are who had the longest tenure there?

Agreed on that bitch-ass Jimmy, not on Chris. I think Kattan threw himself into his parts, not as well as Hartman but as enthusiastically. Fallon couldn't get over the fact that he was on teevee.

I agree with TDF. Those two made me want to stab both of them in the face repeatedly, especially Cheri Oteri. Why that stupid cheerleader sketch was brought back week after week is beyond me, and I still don't understand why people like Will Ferrell so much.

They had so much energy and were good at making people uncomfortable.
